Tesla will soon open its Supercharger network to all electric vehicle owners in the UK whether Tesla users or not according to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State of Transport.

After months of Tesla announcing the opening of its supercharging stations to all electric vehicle users instead of only Tesla users, the giant EV manufacturer has ramped up the program in the Netherlands where now all charging stations are now available to all EV users.

Next will be to expand the program to France and the UK. The news was confirmed by Trudy Harrison, UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State of Transport when speaking to electrifying.com

“Speaking to Founder and CEO of Electrifying.com Ginny Buckley earlier this week, Transport Minister Trudy Harrison confirmed the move, stating: “Tesla recognise that they are part of the solution here” and that the move could come “within weeks and months rather than years”.

The UK has seen a surge in electric vehicle sales over the last year with 11.6% of the market share with Tesla leading the pack.

The Society of Motor Manufacturer and Traders has released their February 2022 numbers  and it shows another increase as EVs are taking a 17.7% market share.

With the launch of Tesla’s Model Y we expect to see the giant’s UK market share increasing considerably. And if you haven’t yet seen the new Model Y here’s a pick view.
