More and more new electric vans are coming into the market each year. With new government grants, an increased number of charging points throughout the UK and faster charging time, electric vehicles are more appealing than ever.
Ford, Vauxhall and Mercedes are amongst the commercial vehicle manufacturers that are bringing out new electric vehicle models at lower prices, with faster charging rates and extended ranges.
We’ve put together a range of small, medium and large electric vans to watch in 2021, hoping to make your life easier when you decide to jump into a new electric van.
SMALL ELECTRIC VANS 2021
RENAULT KANGOO ZE 33
Renault’s modern remit is to create more affordable, more sensible vehicles and nothing the company makes sums this up better than its all-electric Kangoo Z.E. 33 van. It costs a little more to buy than its diesel-powered stablemate, but from then on, the running cost savings will be huge. This battery-powered van was improved in 2017 with a bigger Z.E. 33 battery that has increased operating range by up to 50%, so theoretically, this LCV can go up to 143 WLTP-rated miles between charges. For forward-thinking operators, that makes this van a very difficult option to ignore in its segment.

NISSAN e-NV250

PEUGEOT e-PARTNER
The Peugeot Partner Electric motor is powered by 22.5 kWh lithium-ion batteries, which provide the electric van with a range of 170 km. Peugeot were the first to market with a small, electric van, as far back 2013, and the latest incarnation is sure to impress.

CITROEN BERLINGO ELECTRIC
With its batteries positioned beneath the floor, the Berlingo Electric has a lot of evenly distributed, low-down weight. That means it feels really sharp to drive, even considering that it’s based on the previous-generation Berlingo, which dates back to 2008.
The 49kW motor won’t set any land speed records but is nippy around town, and is helped by the absence of gears. In fact, the Berlingo Electric is slightly more powerful than its main rival, the Kangoo ZE, although the Berlingo Electric does not have the range of the Renault.
